hi, i’m jenny ortuoste, and i run gogirl cafe.

 i’m a palanca award-winning essayist, coffee-fueled freelance writer, and fountain pen user.

i write two english-language columns for the daily broadsheet manila standard-today: “pop goes the world” (opinion, op-ed page), thursdays, and “the hoarse whisperer” (horseracing, sports page), wednesdays.

i used to have two taglish columns on horseracing - “karera lang!” in the daily tabloid bandera on tuesdays and saturdays, and “gogirl racing” in pilipino mirror, also a tab – but have gone on hiatus to finish my dissertation proposal.

in my spare time i think about cupcakes, walk aimlessly for exercise, and read.
