Zondervan publishes terrific NIV (New International Version) bibles. My favorite is the Student Bible, which has commentaries and explanations that put verses and passages in context (historical and background). Sadly, it does not come in a hard- or leather-bound version.

Here’s another from Zondervan – the Women’s Devotional Bible (new edition), with highlighted verses and a devotional for each day of the week, written by women for women. I love the color combination – chocolate and orchid.
